Topic: The Reliability of Eyewitness Testimony

The Term Paper Assignment will consist of at least 10 double-spaced pages (excluding title page, references, figures, illustrations, or other extraneous elements outside the main body of the paper). Students will format their paper using 12-point Times New Roman font and one-inch margins. Students will use at least 10 scholarly and trade references (Wikipedia, non-legitimate peer-reviewed websites, or blogs CANNOT be used as a reference). APA 7th Edition guidelines are to be followed. The structure of the assignment must include the following sections and mandatory headings: 

  1. Title Page
  2. Introduction
  3. Description of the Problem or Issue
  4. Literature Review
  5. Analysis and Discussion
  6. Policy and/or Practice Recommendations
  7. Conclusion
  8. References

The following are minimum requirements and general guidelines for the Term Paper Assignment:

  1. Title Page. The title page should include the title of the term paper, course name and number, student name, and date.
  2. Introduction. This section describes the purpose and scope of the topic and provides a brief overview of the term paper.
    1. Thesis Statement. You will also include a thesis statement and the end of your introduction. The thesis statement clearly identifies the topic being discussed, includes the points discussed in the paper. Start this off by, “The purpose of this paper is…”
  3. Description of the Problem or Issue. This section presents the core problem or issue related to the topic of the term paper and why it is important.
  4. Literature Review. This section presents a review of the literature related to the overall topic of the term paper. Both consensus and disagreements in the literature should be addressed.
  5. Analysis and Discussion. This section explores the entire topic of the term paper while considering the problem or issue, literature review, and analysis.
  6. Policy and/or Practice Recommendations. This section provides practical suggestions on how to apply the information in the paper to areas of policy and practice.
  7. Conclusion. This section summarizes the paper with conclusions drawn from the discussion and policy and practice sections of the paper.
  8. References. This section contains all source materials used in the preparation of the term paper in proper APA format.
