Student 2

first part:

Now that you have completed the prewriting and outline or map of your paper, it is time to write the first draft. Check the processes we used for your career paper and your research paper for examples.

You will submit the entire first draft of your paper in this assignment. Add your introduction and body paragraphs and then add your conclusion.

Please view the following brief video for tips on writing an introductory paragraph for your research paper essay:

If this video gave you some tips to begin writing your introductory paragraph, please do so now. Your paragraph should begin with a “hook” – something to interest your reader (me!) in your topic (your working thesis statement). Add your thesis statement (already submitted) at the end of this paragraph. 4 sentences minimum in this paragraph.

If you would like more information on how to write an introduction, please watch this next, longer, video:

Next is a short video on paragraph development. I recommend that you watch it and use any tips that seem beneficial.

Check out this video if you think it might help you to write your conclusion (recognizing the opposite point of view):

Second part:

Please be sure to make improvements to your research paper, check it one last time for errors in spelling/word choice, sentence structure (no fragments and no run-on sentences), and anything else that would make your paper better. Be sure you have added in-text citations for each supporting paragraph!

You must have in-text citation from “Fed Up” and any other source you used in each supporting paragraph in order to earn credit for this paper!

Please be sure your paper is written in MLA format (see my comments on the MLA paper assignment for suggestions) and includes a running head. Again, you may use OWL Purdue as your source for MLA formatting as found in the following link:

When you are finished with your paper, be sure to add a title that fits your thesis statement (just use the important words from your theses statement) and add a Words Cited page. See Own Purdue link below:
