Specific, relevant, character traits of the accused may be introduced

Specific, relevant, character traits of the accused may be introduced into evidence by the defense in federal courts to prove that the accused acted in accordance with those traits.  For instance, an accused who is charged with assault may introduce evidence in the form of opinion or reputation evidence to prove that the accused is a peaceful person, and, therefore, would not have committed the assault charged. How much weight do you believe that such evidence should have in determining whether the accused is guilty or not guilty? Explain your position.
