Locate or annotate for the following items. Some of your annotations will be notes that answer questions.  (*Annotations are notes made directly on the passage.). 
You can print a hard copy of the passage and annotate on the hard copy using colored pens, pencils, etc.  You can also elect to save a copy of the passage to your laptop and annotate digitally.  
You must mark each item listed below clearly.  If you are using color coding for different items, a key should be provided.

· Who is the author? What do we know about her?

· 10 events from the author’s story (the biggest events)

· 4 facts the author shares

· 2 opinions the author names held by others

· 2 questions that come to your mind while reading
