The purpose of this research paper is to find the negotiation process of diplomatic normalization between the US and Vietnam. Therefore you don’t need to write about the Vietnam War. Please write the diplomatic relation AFTER the war. Firstly, please describe the relation between the two countries after the war. Secondly, please research the reasons why they decide to normalize the relation (i.e. economic crisis in Vietnam and international situations around US and Vietnam) Third, this is the most important part of the paper. Please write the negotiation process of normalization. (MIA/POW issues, etc) How did they negotiate it? What was the most difficult thing in the negotiation? How did they achieve the normalization?
