The literary analysis essay should compare the works The Gulag Archipelago by Alexander Solzhenitsyn and Brave New World by Aldous Huxley from multiple perspectives including overall tone, word choice, connotations, motifs, point of view, character development, and context. Oppression and Genocide must be the overarching theme, and the essay should describe in detail how each author approaches this theme. The finished work should consist of 5-10 complete paragraphs including an introduction and a conclusion. It must contain a minimum of 5 quotations drawn from both books and 3 citations of selected secondary sources.
