The Core Competencies defined by NONPF are scientific foundations, leadership, quality, practice inquiry, technology and information literacy, policy, health delivery system, and ethics. I believe that I will be able to achieve these competencies by staying up-to-date with the scientific foundations by reviewing research. I will continue to utilize my leadership style of having open communication with my team and leading through example. I will provide quality by making sure that all of my treatment plans are in the best interest of the patient. I will utilize the current technology that is applicable to my patient on an individual basis. I will adhere to policies and procedures to ensure patient safety. I will make sure that the health delivery system is adequate for all patients. I will practice in an ethical manner at all times.

My leadership style is transformational. I believe in motivating my team through encouragement and establishing a trusting relationship. According to George and Leasure, transformational leadership skills help achieve better patient outcomes, acceptance of innovative ideas, and staff performance perceptions towards work (2016).  I utilize transformational leadership due to the fact that a leader can have a positive or negative impact on their staff, therefore a relationship between a leader and staff must be positive in order to have optimal patient outcomes (Henrick, et. al, 2016). There are four primary concepts of transformational leadership which are idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individual consideration (George, 2016). McKinney stated that a Director of Nursing in a long term care facility can eliminate state violations by utilizing the four concepts of transformational leadership (2016).

The track as a Nurse Practitioner  there several domain in which master level class and curriculum requires different domain related to the direction of school. Number of domains are incorporated in advance nursing (Hamric,p.227) such as consultation, leadership, Ethical decision making, coaching and other areas.

Depending on what leadership style is bias depending upon what type or who the individual is that is given out the instructions or simply requesting help from a team member. The type of leader I have become is multifaceted in order to accommodate the team. As being a student transition from Registered nurse to Advance Nurse Practitioner the roles required more responsible and education Hamric (p.261).
