In a written paper of not more than 2,200 words, briefly discuss the importance of standards-based audit in improving quality of maternal and newborn care, explain and justify your choice of the area/aspect of care, outline your proposed standards of care with structure, process and outcome criteria and write a detailed plan of action (including work plan) for the introduction and conduct of standards-based audit in the hospital using one of your five standards as a practical example.
