Civilizations and Religions

Choose two civilizations and their religions to compare. The two civilizations should not be from the same geographic region. Locate one primary source from each of your chosen civilizations; you may use the resources and references at the end of the textbook chapters to find primary sources. (Note: a “primary source” is a document/artifact that is from the historical time period that you are studying.) Use these primary sources to compare religious beliefs and practices. To do so, address the following questions in a cohesive essay, with an introduction, a series of body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Incorporate direct references to primary sources. What is the historical setting for each of the primary source documents? What insights into the religious practices of these civilizations can be gained? How are these religious practices similar? How are they different? Is either of these religions still active today? If so, how?
