BIO102 – W8 Assignment

Embryonic and Fetal Development

Instructions

Embryonic and fetal development is a delicate process subject to environmental interference. As you are learning the readings for the week, teratogen is a substance that produces physical or functional defects in the human embryo or fetus that a pregnant woman is exposed to.

For this assignment, pick a teratogen (one that was discussed in the reading, or an instructor approved choice) and explain how this particular teratogen causes damage to the developing embryo/fetus. Include the timeframe for which damage will be most severe. Discuss prevention and treatment as well. You may consult outside resources, but make sure to include a reference page with your submission.

There is no minimum length requirement, but your explanation needs to be thorough.
