Before completing this assignment, please review the Full Research Paper and Assignments 1-3 General Instructions. You will also need to complete the following modules:- Introduction- Writing Style and Appropriate Citations- Title, Abstract & Formatting.For Assignment #1, you will submit a draft of your title page, abstract, and introduction portions of your your APA-style manuscript. Other sections will be completed in the remaining assignments.Completing these drafts will: a) encourage you to start your project early, b) provide practice for your APA writing, and c) give you opportunities for feedback (from your peers and the TAs) before submitting your full research paper.Remember: You will submit Assignment #1 through this submission tool, but must also submit through the workshop tool for Peer Reviews. Both submissions are due by 11:59pm. TAs will grade your assignments out of 10 points each.A complete Assignment #1 will include: 

a) A title page;

b) An abstract, in which you briefly outline:

i. the problem under investigation (i.e., the hypotheses, the purpose, or research question);

ii. the research method (including pertinent participant characteristics, the data collection process, and the manipulations or measures;

iii. the findings (i.e.., the results without numbers); and

iv. the discussion (i.e., the conclusions, implications, and/or applications of the study).

c) An introduction, in which you:

i. introduce the problem or research question, and why it is important/interesting (1 paragraph);

ii. review the relevant literature (in which you review at least 5 different empirical sources as support for the research hypothesis; 3-4 paragraphs);

iii. present your method (at the conceptual level) and your hypotheses (1 paragraph).

This assignment must adhere to APA-style and will be marked accordingly.

Format: Assignments must be saved as a .pdf, an .rtf document, a .doc document or a .docx document. Assignments submitted in other formats will not be graded. It is your responsibility to ensure that your assignment has been submitted in one of the approved formats. 

Font and margins: The font will be Times New Roman 12 pt font, and you must have 1 inch margins. 

Page limit: 5 pages total (1 title page, 1 abstract page, and 3 pages for the introduction). 

Cited articles: You will also need to upload a copy of the 5 articles you are citing in your paper. Uploading the pdf of each paper is appropriate (you are allowed to upload multiple documents before hitting the send for marking button). 

To upload your assignment click on the “Add submission” button on the bottom of the page (below the grading rubric). Then click on “Add” to upload files, or drag and drop them from your computer. Remember, files must be in .pdf, .doc, .docx, or .rtf format; make sure that you can see this file extension at the end of your document name (e.g., Assignment1.docx). Then click on “Save changes” at the bottom of the screen. Your “Submission status” will now say “Submitted for grading”.

To make changes, click on the “Edit my submission” button at the bottom of the page. This will allow you to delete your file and upload another.
