Analyze pride and gender roles in the play ‘Antigone’ by Sophocles

Before conducting the argument, define pride and gender roles in the introduction. Provide real world, modern examples of women taking a stand for what they believe in and overcoming the stereotypes of women (passive, submissive, weak). At the end of the introduction, clearly state what the paper is about/what you’re going to argue. Contrast King Creon’s pride and Antigone’s pride and explain how gender roles are prevalent in this play. Use direct quotes from the play that illustrates examples of gender roles and pride. Describe how these gender roles are questioned and broken by Antigone. In the conclusion, write in a call to action mindset, explaining that women should be unapologetic like Antigone was and that we should empower women who are strongwilled and know what they want.
